Coinbase Wallet Extension

Secure, private crypto access in your browser

Take control of your crypto — fast, private, and secure

Coinbase Wallet Extension puts your keys and dApps at your fingertips. Connect to decentralized apps, manage NFTs, and sign transactions directly from your browser — without exposing your private keys or sacrificing convenience.

Non-custodial by design

You hold your private keys. Coinbase Wallet Extension stores encrypted keys locally, giving you full ownership and control of your assets.

Seamless dApp connections

Connect to thousands of decentralized apps in one click. Approve only the actions you trust, and stay in control with a clear transaction preview.

Built-in swap and multi-chain support

Swap tokens across supported networks and manage multiple chains — all inside the extension. No need to juggle multiple wallets.

Privacy-first approach

Optional metadata protection, per-site permissions, and minimal telemetry ensure your browsing and asset activity stays private.

How it works — in 3 quick steps

  1. Install the extension: Add Coinbase Wallet Extension from the browser store and pin it to your toolbar.
  2. Create or restore a wallet: Generate a secure seed phrase or import an existing one. The seed is encrypted locally — not stored by Coinbase.
  3. Connect and interact: Visit a dApp, select "Connect Wallet", then approve actions from the extension. Review gas fees, transaction details, and permissions before signing.
Tip: Use a separate browser profile for high-risk dApp testing and keep your recovery phrase offline.

Frequently asked questions

Is Coinbase Wallet the same as a Coinbase account?
No — Coinbase Wallet is non-custodial. Your Coinbase exchange account is a separate custodial service where Coinbase holds keys on your behalf.
What happens if I lose my device?
As long as you have your recovery phrase, you can restore your wallet on another device. Keep that phrase offline and secure.
Which networks are supported?
The extension supports major EVM-compatible networks and common sidechains. Network availability may change; check the extension settings for the current list.
